I began my career in Sioux City Iowa, where I was a salon owner for 10 years. I have won many regional hairstyling contests. The greatest was the Midwest Master's Award at the International Cosmetology Expo in Minneapolis, year 2000. To win the Master's, I presented full fashion looks on both female and male models.

I have been actively involved in the National Cosmetologist's Association (NCA) most of my career. I was the Iowa State Styles Director for two years. In 1999 I tested for and was inducted into Hair America, the teaching affiliate of NCA.

In 2000, I passed the exam to be American Board Certified Haircolorist (ABCH). We as ABCH are recognized as the most knowledgeable haircolorists in America.

I've attended many advanced schools including Bruno's School in Toronto, Sassoon's at Los Angeles, Jon English and Aveda in Minneapolis. New technology, techniques, and fashion updates mandate advancing my skills through seminars and hands-on classes throughout the year.

I love the industry and I attribute my success to the fact that I have the ability to read people. I understand and listen to their desires and I know what their hair will and won't do. I look at all aspects and want to create a style that is easy for them to maintain, besides making them look and feel fantastic.
